North Front Street has a new addition - Le' Cup - 2009-05-12
As I walked into Le’ Cup I was greeted with a “Hello” that made the lime green walls seem dull. I actually questioned whether I knew the person behind the counter, but after talking to owner Keri Roehl, I realized her style of communicating with customers was to make them feel like friends, family even.
After opening Le’ Cup on North Front Street on May 1, Keri said that she’s already seen a steady flow of customers and “they’re coming back too!” She seemed thrilled and a little surprised all at the same time. As I stood there sipping my perfect latte and chatting with Keri, I knew exactly why her customers were coming back and that I would be back too!
Keri explained the whirlwind that lead to the opening of Le’ Cup. Just 5 weeks ago she learned that the space was available and jumped on the opportunity to open a business downtown. “Everything is different…” She looked around her quaint coffee shop and while she was talking about the changes she had made inside the shop, I think she meant herself also.
When I asked Keri if she had always wanted to open a coffee shop, she laughed. She explained that while she had wanted to, she never dreamed that it would at this time, but everything just fell into place. It was definitely meant to be.
On the menu at Le’ Cup: espresso drinks, bubble tea, brown bag lunches, and an assortment of pastries. I understand espresso and pastries, but bubble tea and brown-bagged lunches? I needed a little clarification.
Bubble tea is a sweet treat that consists of powered flavoring and milk that is shaken, and poured over tapioca pearls and drank with an extremely large straw. Her brown-bagged lunches are available to go in the morning or you can stop by and pick them up hot in the afternoon. When I went in to Le’ Cup, the lunch was french dip, kettle chips, and a twinkie!
So the next time you are on Front Street, or if you are just looking for a great cup of coffee and some great company, head over to Le’ Cup at 5 North Front Street #102, you'll be happy you did.
