Authentic, one of a kind, those terms alone are what make the downtown experience special. You can't recreate it at the Valley Mall or you can't take what's special in Yakima and make it work in Wenatchee. Something that is certainly authentic to Yakima is our hop history and the certain smell that fills the air this time of year in the valley during hop harvest and processing season. To celebrate, our good friends at Allied Arts will host the 6th Annual Fresh Hop Ale Festival on Saturday October 4th. The event is quickly becoming one of the marque unique events in all of the Pacific NW. To kick the event off, we invite you downtown on Friday October 3rd, not only for Downtown First Fridays, but to enjoy your choice of three special brewers dinners at the Burhmaster Bakery (featuring Full Sail Brewing Company), Bob's Keg and Cork (featuring Yakima Craft Brewing Company) and Yakima Sportscenter (featuring Deschutes Brewing Company ). Diners at all three activities will be greeted with an extensive menu paired with a variety of beers and a chance to learn from representatives from the breweries what makes each beer special. I've heard from the restaurants that tickets are moving quickly, so please RSVP to get your space on what is certain to be a fun kickoff to Fresh Hop Weekend.
