Chris Malland of Sports Center - 2008-02-20
Chris Malland, one of the owner's of Yakima Sports Center, is truly a community-minded guy. When renovating the historic 1910 building that houses the Sports Center, Chris hired all local contractors and laborers, as well as ordering most of the materials from local sources. All of the design elements, from the copper bar top to the swiveling stools, were created by Yakima residents and Chris continues to showcase local artists throughout the bar and restaurant. Add to that a fantastic menu and an incredible live music schedule and you've got one of downtown's favorite hubs.
